One of my favourite music artists is called Avery Sunshine. She sings a song called ‘Jump’. I remember the first time I heard it. It penetrated my being in such a way that left me both speechless and tearful yet filled with hope. The idea of jumping can be used to express a variety of emotions ranging from joy to anger. However, this song opens you up to the idea of jumping into your dreams.

The song somehow reinforced a thought and feeling that had come to me a few months before hearing the song. This idea I could only say was God given. People talk about stepping out in faith, but I felt this big push on me to actually jump. To bend my legs and leap into the unknown. It was linked to me making a major job decision. God was telling me “no time for baby steps to test the waters. Just jump out in faith.” This linked in with what Avery mentions in her song when she sings “Just jump and watch your wings grow…. God’s got your back.” I saw that as God’s way of saying come on “Nims, do it and see what happens”.

I did jump and it has been an amazing journey. Its not all plain sailing but thegrowth that has taken place. WOW! It’s amazing!
The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11(NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” So, I encourage you to just jump and watch your life be changed as you take God’s lead.
