Put Christ back into Christmas

I love Christmas… I love the lights…. I love the decorations…. I love the music… I love the feel-good feeling and music…. I love watching the cheesy movies… I love watching my daughter opening presents…. I’ve even started creating my cheesy movie list on Netflix…. I love spending time with my family and friends….

There’s so much to love about Christmas but in all that love the true essence of this season can be lost in all those loves. The true meaning of it and the reason for it. The Nativity….

The birth of a small baby to a humble family…. However, even though we tend to end the Christmas season with the focus on giving and receiving gifts. The birth of a small baby is the biggest gift that Christmas has given us. It gave us life and a promise of a better future. The biggest thing about Christmas is that it’s the beginning to a great story that ends with a sacrifice of life. That sacrifice has provided us with a great promise that remains true even up to this day.

A promise of a better day and future….

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Foe God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17

Let us this Christmas sacrifice something that will emulate in some way the essence of what Christ has done. Let someone feel that same sense of hope and reassurance. Especially with the latest changes that have taken place for us living in the United Kingdom.

During these very uncertain times and Christmas period, let Christ come first. Let Him continue to be at the core of all our that we are able to do, the lights/decoration appreciation, the gatherings that can happen, the gift giving and receiving and even those cheesy movies that we’ll end up watching.

Please take care during these times… Stay safe… and may God cover us all with his peace and reassurance of better days in 2021.
