In life we experience challenges and we are uncertain about whether we should be facing them or trying to avoid them.
Like Peter (in Matthew 14:26-29) after seeing Jesus walking on water, we say to God if it’s really you in this, show me. Bid me to come. God says come. We start to step out walking on the challenge with our eyes on him and we start realising, yes, it’s you God. Let’s do this… It’s an amazing miracle that’s happening. Then just as it does in life, things start to distract us highlighting the complexities of this challenge. Starting to make us think this miracle isn’t humanly possible to get through. We start to focus on those distractions and start to sink. We go so far to the point of drowning. Then there’s that moment when we are reminded about who told us to step out. We cry out “Lord save me”. Then we see a stretched-out hand and hear the words. “Oh, ye of little faith, why did you doubt?”

If God has called you to the challenge don’t get distracted by the fact that it’s impossible. Focus on him and watch yourself walk on water. As the art piece by Johnel Lynch shows holding God’s hand while walking on water will provide you with His peace.
